Mr. Vick was a wonderful man. I had the honor of knowing him and his wife through his son, my dear friend Bob growing up in High School together. When I needed it most, Mr. Vick guided me on the right path for my career. He opened many doors for me when he worked At Amerada Hess that led me to the career that I have so much enjoyed. He was a terrific role model, a wonderful father and husband and truly a gentleman. I don't know what would have become of me without his guidance. Thank you, Mr. Vick for being the person you were to me when I needed the support and guidance of a father figure. God Bless you and Mrs. Vick. May you both rest in eternal peace.

I am so sorry that you are experiencing the passing of first your wonderful Mom and now your Dad. He was one of the kindest men I have know and was such a wonderful husband to your Mom. You were their most precious possession and they loved you so much. I pray that God holds you all in the palm of his hand as you move through this sorrowful time. Much love and deepest sympathy. I posted in the New York Times obituary with Legacy.com as well. I remember when Richard Vick was confirmed at St. Catherine's Church, Holmdel, NJ. It was at the Easter Vigil and he was confirmed with his wife Celeste standing behind him. She always did that. I sang in the choir. I felt privileged to be part of that with him. After that, I always saw him as a Eucharistic minister at St. Catherine's. It was reassuring to see him there. No matter what he did, he did it with quiet dignity. I personally have been friends with Richard Vick II,one of his sons, since the early 1980's when he sang in the choir with me. The nice thing about Richard , Celeste and their sons is that once you became a friend of theirs, you were their friends forever. What a wonderful legacy of love. God Bless all of you in the Vick family.
