Dr. Richard V. Kollarits, born on May 9, 1943, in East Cleveland OH, passed away on November 24, 2024.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank J. Kollarits and Margaret Kish Kollarits (Cleveland OH), and his brother, Dr. Frank J. Kollarits, Jr. (Whitehouse OH). He was a graduate of St. Margaret of Hungary Elementary School (1957), Benedictine High School (1961), John Carroll University (1966-68), United States Army ( 1970), and Drexel University (1976). He was a physicist and researcher who worked at Bell Labs in Holmdel NJ.
He is survived by his sister-in-law, Dr. Carol R. Kollarits (Whitehouse OH), his nephew, Matthew Kollarits (Broadview Heights OH), his niece, Edna Kollarits Lorenz (Royal Oak MI), and his cousins Dr. Nancy C. Erdey (Mayfield Heights OH) and Alexander C. Erdey Jr. (Livonia MI), and several grandnephews.
Services will be private. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Parish of St. Mary, 1 Phalanx Road, Colts Neck, NJ 07722.
