He lived in Long Branch since 1953, prior to that he lived in Spring Lake.
He was a graduate of St. Lawrence University, Canton NY, and St. Lawrence High School, class of 1942
He was a downhill skier at the University, and was a member of the marching band in high school. He was also on the football team in high school.
During his time in the Army Air Corp , he was a tailgunner and flew in the last mission in to Germany that targeted oil refineries. His plane was then shot down and he was captured by Tito's National Party, going underground and returned home after 3 months.
He was chairman of the luncheon for the northeast corridor, of the railroad.
He worked for 5 years on the World Trade Center, as one of coordinators of the steel used to construct the buildings.
