Robert G. Gruss 69, of Lincroft passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 10th at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune. Robert was born in Cleveland, Ohio and joined the U.S. Army in 1966 and served in Vietnam. He was honorably discharged in 1968 and relocated to New Jersey where he met his loving wife, Valerie. They were residents of Lincroft for 38 years. Robert retired from Warshauer Electric Supply in Tinton Falls. He was an avid Cleveland Indians and Browns fan. He loved his family, especially his grandchildren, and loved to garden. He will be remembered for his selfless acts of kindness for others and will be dearly missed. He is predeceased by his parents, Andrew and Caroline Gruss, and his siblings, Marie McCollister and Andrew Gruss. Surviving is his wife, Valerie Gruss, Lincroft; his children, Damon Gruss, Matawan, Courtney Gabriel and her husband Jeffrey, Brick; his grandchildren, Cathryn, Colin and Ryan; and his sister, Carol Primozic and her husband Randolph of Willoughby Hills, Ohio. A memorial mass will be offered Saturday, Aug. 13th at 10 am at St. Dominic's Roman Catholic Church, 250 Old Squan Rd, Brick, NJ 08724.
