Corporal – U.S.Army – Korean War Robert Kaye, 79, of Colts Neck, NJ, died on Monday, November 8, 2010 surrounded by family at home after a brave battle with cancer. Born in Jeannette, PA, he relocated to New Jersey and lived in Colts Neck for 38 years. He was a graduate of Penn State University and earned a Masters degree from Seton Hall. He served in the United States Army from 1952 to 1954, stationed at the 50th Ammunition Depot in Kaizerslautern, Germany. He taught mathematics at Middletown High School North from 1959 to 1996. He was a member of St. Mary's parish in Colts Neck. He was an avid fan of the Penn State Nittany Lions and the New York Yankees. He was predeceased by his mother, Catherine, father, Stanley, and brother, Stanley. He is survived by Marilou, his beloved wife of 48 years and four devoted children: daughter, Joalice Smyth and husband Matthew; sons, Robert and wife Dawn; Stanley; Stephen and wife Lauren; five cherished grandchildren, Paige, Dalton, Alex, Garrett, and Alexia; and five nephews, David, Thomas, Edward, Leigh and Sean. Friends may call at Holmdel Funeral Home, 26 South Holmdel Road on Thursday 4-8 PM. Funeral mass on Friday at St. Mary's, Colts Neck at 9 AM. Private entombment services to follow. Donations can be made to the ARC of Monmouth, 1158 Wayside Road, Tinton Falls, 08560 or a charity of choice.
