Robert P. Sturges, 91, of Holmdel, passed away peacefully, Wednesday surrounded by his family.

Bob was born and raised in Passaic, New Jersey and was a graduate of Lafayette College class of 1953, where he was a member of the Sigma Nu fraternity.

Upon graduation Bob served honorably in the US Army stationed at Fort Huachuca, Arizona.  Bob would begin his working career as an electrical engineer at Lockheed Martin and would eventually move to Bell Laboratories, Holmdel, where he would spend the next 31years. Bob was a member of the Marbleheaders of Spring Lake, an amateur radio operator, call sign K2PBT, an avid reader and enjoyed sailing off the coast of Tortola, BVI.

Bob is survived by his loving wife Elizabeth married for 65 years; his son David, his daughter Linda and Rich Mosquera, his daughter Carol and Eric Goetz; and his beloved granddaughter Isabella.

A memorial gathering will be held Friday, May 26th from 2:00-4:00 PM at the Holmdel Funeral Home, 26 S. Holmdel Rd, Holmdel, NJ 07733 with a service at 3:30 PM.
