Roger Francis Nicholson, 89, of Red Bank, passed away at his home Wednesday afternoon.
Roger was born and raised in the Jackson Heights section of Queens, New York and he is a graduate of Manhattan College with a degree in physics. Following his graduation, he began to work for Bell Labs but was drafted to the Army just about a month into his new career. After servicing his time in the military, he restarted his career at Bell Labs where he would stay for 40 years. In 1954 Roger would marry the love of his life, Marilyn, and the two would settle first in Morristown to start their family and ultimately move to Lincroft in 1976. Roger enjoyed golfing, travel and laying out by the pool whenever he could. He was truly a great man who will be sorely missed.
Roger is predeceased by his loving wife Marilyn A. Nicholson; his son Edward Nicholson; and his sister Barbara.
Roger is survived by his children Roger Nicholson of Stamford, Conn, Stephen Nicholson and his wife Debi of Groton, Mass, and Peter Nicholson and his wife Linda of Midlothian, VA; his sister Carol; his grandchildren Kate, Marissa, and Stephen; and his beloved great grandchildren Madeleine, Dominic, Mason, and Lucas.
