Rosalie La Porta

June 2, 1956 - December 19, 2023

Rosalie La Porta, 67, of Holmdel, passed away at Care One in Holmdel.

Rosalie was born and raised in Staten Island until she was 14 years old when her family moved to Colts Neck. She would go on to graduate from Marlboro High School and would begin her career at Brookdale Community College as a Librarian, a job she would do for more than 40 years.

Rosalie was a member of the Brielle First Aid and was a massive Disney fan.

Rosalie is predeceased by her parents Louis and Helen La Porta.

Rosalie is survived by her siblings Thomas La Porta and his wife Anne of Colts Neck, Louis La Porta and his wife Stefani of Spring Hill, FL, and Carolyn Barfoot and her husband Keith of Tinton Falls, and her nieces and nephews Frank, Gabrielle, Thomas, Joseph, and Grace.

Rosalie will be privately entombed. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Holmdel Funeral Home, 26 S. Holmdel Rd, Holmdel NJ 07733

I am very sorry to hear of dear Rose's passing. I have always liked chatting with my friends in the Library, upstairs, and Rose was a real treat. I admired her unique desire to stand up as a Mickey Mouse advocate. I adored her MM earrings, and her several Disney attires. I have missed her after she retired. I send my special condolences to Anna and the family, at this time; let us celebrate our dear Rose's life.

I'm so sorry to hear this. I worked with Ro at Brookdale for a few years and she is unforgettable. Her love of all things Disney, her daschunds, good food (Italian and Chinese) was always fun to discuss. She will be missed, I will keep your family in my prayers.

Ro left an impression on all Brookdalians, from her joy in her holiday costume, her Santa’s elf a favorite, to her love of our community. My sincerest best wishes to her family, which includes the students and her co-workers. We will miss her smile, her laugh, and her great heart.

What a wonderful person Ms. Rosalie was....Got to see her several times a week on my delivery runs to the library/LRC...always knew the Btookdale scuttlebutt and loved to converse with her...a truly awesome Brookdalian who will be missed..Condolences to her family members. Tom Hughes

Ro and I worked together for many years as her vestibule window was right around the corner from my office area. I'd check on her Micky outfit each day. Always decked out in Micky everything. I'll miss her sideways smile and her love of her pups! Oh how she loved them. She is always in my thoughts and prayers. After her retirement we'd run into one another from time to time. Mostly at BCC events. I promised to get in touch to do something with her but unfortunately, that day never came. Certainly, my loss. My sincere condolences to the family. I worked with Rosalie in the Bankier Library when I was first hired at Brookdale. I always like hearing her stories and her love of Mickey Mouse and Disney World. May God comfort you during this time. RIP Rosalie.

I remember Rosalie fondly when I worked at BCC in the late 80's. She was so down-to -earth!
