Rose Frances Curci, 89, of Hazlet, passed away Tuesday night surrounded by her family. Rose was born in Brooklyn moving to Staten Island as a young child.
She was a graduate of Port Richmond High School where she was proud to be an Arista Member (the highest honor roll) for 4 years. Shortly after high school Rose would marry the love of her life, Patrick and settle in Staten Island to raise their family. Rose and her husband together worked their family business Curci Fuel Oil, for many years. After selling that business Rose took on a second career as a Supervisor for the Staten Island DMV for 25 years before retiring.
Rose loved playing the slots in Atlantic City. Rose also loved cooking and baking. She loved knitting and crocheting as well. She so enjoyed the annual family vacations in Forked River and then in Long Beach Island. Rose’s greatest love was the love of her family. Rose is predeceased by her husband Patrick Curci; and her siblings Anthony Franza, Josephine Sarcone, and Johanna Medoro.
Rose is survived by her children Deborah Larson and her husband Edward of Hazlet, Joanne Curci of Staten Island, Patrick Curci III and his wife Tina of Toms River, Renee Curci-Ivanoff and husband Georg of Croton on Hudson, and Michele Quinn and her husband David of Keyport. Her grandchildren Lauren, Edward Jr., Deanna, Michaela, Breeann, George Michael, Alexandria, Gioanna and Madison. And her beloved great grandchildren Lia, Dominic, Alina and Penelope.
Visitation will be Sunday, January 23rd from 2:00 – 7:00 pm at Holmdel Funeral Home, 26 S. Holmdel Road, Holmdel. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered Monday, January 24th at 9:15 am at the Church of St. Catharine, 108 Middletown Road, Holmdel, NJ. An Entombment will follow at Holmdel Cemetery Mausoleum.
