Ruby Lualhati Borreo, at age 75 of Barnegat passed away on Thursday, April 21, 2022. She was surrounded by her loved ones at the time of her passing.
She was born to the late Amparo and Daniel Lualhati in Nagcarlan Laguna, Philippines in 1946.
Ruby was raised in Nagcarlan and graduated with a B.A. in Accounting and Liberal Arts from the University of the East, Manila, where she met the love of her life, Oscar Borreo. They wed in 1968, going on to have three children, Raymond, Dovie, and Jason. Ruby was the heart and foundation of her family who dedicated her life to being a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother. After their third child was born they moved to the United States where they continued to raise their family. She worked at Bio Medical Life Support Systems for over 30 years as a medical assistant displaying her loyalty and care for others.
Ruby was such a wonderful example of unconditional love, kindness, selflessness, warmth, and generosity. She loved hosting many gatherings with family and friends where she would cook her signature dish, pancit that everyone loved. She had a passion for gardening, singing, dancing and slot machines. Ruby had a flair for wearing stylish, vibrant clothes, complimenting her beauty inside and out. She was an angel who loved spending time with her family more than anything.
She is predeceased by her parents, and her half-brother. Ruby is survived by her college sweetheart and husband of over 54 years, Oscar Borreo, her son Raymond Borreo and his wife Tonette of Irvine, CA, daughter Dovie and her husband Steven Damen of Manasquan, and her son Jason Borreo of Little Silver, and three loving grandchildren Dean, Luke, and Bodhi.
Memorial Gathering will be held on Thursday, April 28 from 4pm – 8pm at Holmdel Funeral Home, Holmdel. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered Friday, April 29 at 10am at the Parish of St. Mary, Colts Neck. Ennichement will follow at Holmdel Cemetery, Holmdel.
