Salvatore Joseph Milazzo, 92, of Freehold, died on Monday, January 13.
Salvatore was born and raised in Queens, NY to the late Anna and Joseph Salvatore Milazzo. He was in the graduating class of 1952 at Brooklyn Tech High School. After high school, Salvatore began working for Bell Atlantic in Manhattan, moving up the ranks throughout the years and finally retiring as Assistant Vice President. He served his country honorably in the US Army during the Korean War. He raised his family in Matawan, later moving to Colts Neck. He served as councilman and police commissioner for Matawan, and later inspector at Colts Neck.
Salvatore enjoyed woodworking, cooking, traveling to NYC, and traveling, especially to Italy. Most of all, Salvatore enjoyed spending time with his family.
He is predeceased by his parents, and his brothers Stephen Edward Milazzo and Joseph Robert Milazzo.
Surviving is his loving wife JoAnn Milazzo, his sister, Theresa Piccirillo, his children Deborah Milazzo Battaglia of LA, and Edward Salvatore Milazzo of Brick, his grandchildren Nicole (Matthew), Christopher (Amanda), Alyssa, Theodore, Tyler, and Alana (Daniel), his great-grandchild Ambrose, and his close relatives in Long Island.
A committal service will be offered on Saturday, January 18 at 12 noon at Holmdel Cemetery & Mausoleum, Holmdel. The family would also like to invite friends to join them at the 4:30pm Mass at St. Robert Bellarmine, Freehold in remembrance of Salvatore.
