Sandra Ruggiero, 58, of Holmdel, died on Friday, February 23.
Sandra was born in Newark to the late Marie and Ernest Ruggiero. She loved listening to music, especially Bruce Springsteen, Bon Jovi, and Madonna, dancing, reading, and animals. She was also a Cowboys fan as well as a Yankees fan. Sandra was known for her loving nature and had a great sense of humor. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family.
She is predeceased by her parents.
Surviving is her beloved son Joseph Downey, her granddaughter Samantha Downey, her siblings Barry, Diane and John Ruggiero, and her lifetime companion, Frank Tortorello.
A memorial gathering will be held on Thursday, February 29 from 6pm – 8pm at Holmdel Funeral Home, 26 S. Holmdel Road. A funeral home service will be offered at 7:15 pm.
In lieu of traditional remembrances, Sandra’s family asks with gratitude that donations in her memory be made to the Children’s Tumor Foundation (www.CTF.org)
