Sigrid “Siggi” Beattie, 82, of Hazlet, passed away on Sunday, May 19

Sigrid was born in Liegnitz, Germany in 1941 to the late Herta and Gerhard Kutzner and emigrated to the United States along with her parents and sister at the age of twelve.  She was raised in Irvington, NJ before moving to Staten Island NY where she met the love of her life, Henry Beattie.  It was there that they would raise their family and build their life together making many great friends along the way.  Sigrid worked for Rickel’s Hardware for 15 years before retiring to become a full-time Grandma, her greatest job of all!!!

She enjoyed gardening, baking (especially her Christmas cookies), and decorating her home for each & every holiday. The thing that brought her the most joy in the world though was spending time with her family, who she devoted her life to and loved so dearly.  Sigrid was the sweetest, kind person to all that knew her and most of all loved being a mother & grandmother.

She is predeceased by her parents, her sister Hannelore Gatto and her devoted husband, Henry Beattie.

Surviving are her children, Christine and her husband Joseph Simuro of Asbury Park, and Patricia and her husband Michael Moran of Hazlet and her four grandchildren Anthony, Michael, Hannah and Emily.
