Sylvia Parrottino (Peterson), 97,  of Long Branch, passed away peacefully August 25^th at home.  She had been on home hospice for almost a year and was a brave and strong woman throughout her ordeal.

Sylvia was a graduate of Star of the Sea Academy, Long Branch and a communicant of St. Michael’s RC Church. For over 30 years, Sylvia worked for the Monmouth County Welfare Board as a clerk typist. After retiring, she then worked part-time at Monmouth College for five years.

Sylvia loved all animals, especially cats and dogs.  Her cat Snookie was a constant companion with her throughout the days.  She loved the outdoors and gardening.

Sylvia was a kind and loving wife, mother and grandmother.  She lived a simple life always putting family first. Sylvia’s passing leaves a deep void and she will be missed by her family.

Sylvia is predeceased by her husband, Danny; her parents Charles & Lillie Peterson; her sister Esther and three brothers Harold, Ragnar & Elmer.

Surviving is her son Michael Parrottino, Long Branch; her daughter Debbie Mellish, Long Branch; her grandson Corey & his wife Andrea Mellish, Ocean and her great-granddaughter Collette and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation Tuesday, August 29^th 4:00-6:00 pm at the Woolley-Boglioli Funeral Home, 10 Morrell Street, Long Branch.  Funeral service Wednesday, August 30^th 9:00 am at the funeral home.  Burial to follow in Woodbine Cemetery, Oceanport.
