Theresa Mellone Riley, 90 of Long Branch passed away Monday, April 12, 2010 at the St. Barnabas Hospice and Palliative Care Center, at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch. Mrs. Riley was a lifelong resident of Long Branch and a communicant of Star of The Sea RC Church, Christ The King Parish, Long Branch. Mrs. Riley was a past member of the Ladies Auxiliary, Neptune Hose Co. # 1 of the Long Branch Fire Department. She was a member of the Long Branch Senior Citizens Association. Mrs. Riley was predeceased by her husband, John J. Riley, Jr., who died in 1997; and her parents Carmella Manzi and Frank Mellone; Surviving are two sons and daughter's-in-law, John and Deborah Riley and Frank Sr. and Marilyn Riley, West Long Branch; a daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and Thomas Faillaci, Ocean Twp.; four grandchildren, Alexandra, Frank Jr. and his wife Allison, Christopher and Victoria; and one great granddaughter, Samantha; a sister, Helen Sammarco, Riverdale, NY. The family would like to extend their thanks to the staff of the Jersey Shore Center, 5th floor Greenwald Pavilion and the St. Barnabas Hospice and Palliative Care Center for their kindness and compassionate care. Visitation will be Wed. 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the Woolley Funeral Home, 10 Morrell St. at Broadway, Long Branch. A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thurs. 10:00 AM at Star of the Sea Church, Second Ave., Long Branch. Interment will follow on the family plot in Woodbine Cemetery, Oceanport.
