Thomas E. Johnson, 79 of West Long Branch, passed away on Sunday, March 17th at the Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch. Mr. Johnson was born Barnegat, NJ and lived in Long Branch before moving to West Long Branch in 1962. He retired after many years of service as a Tile Setter for Union Local # 52, New York City. Surviving is his wife of 55 years, Maria Calise Johnson; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Edward Johnson, Long Branch and Thomas and Mary Johnson, Tinton Falls; a daughter and son-in-law, Angela and Salvatore Calabria, Jupiter, Fl.; his four grandchildren, Amy and Karen Calabria and Matthew and Ethan Johnson. There will be a private funeral service for his family followed by interment services at Woodbine Cemetery. Contributions in lieu of flowers may be made to Ronald McDonald House, 131 Bath Avenue, Long Branch, NJ 07740. I always remember uncle Tommy when heand my dad and uncle George would go hunting early inthe morning he would come in and wake us girls up very early'I also remember being very young and sitting on grandmoms lap he would come in and take me off just to tease me.I will miss him very much,it's the end an era of the three brothers.

Uncle Tom's passing is exceptionally hard for me. I grew up next door from him. He was our family "Dentist" when ever we had a loose tooth we went to Uncle Tom, he had a way of pulling the tooth without our knowledge. The comfort I feel is that he is with my Dad, and they are either building something or planting a garden in heaven together. Uncle Tom, you will be missed.
