Ellie: I was very saddened to hear of Tom's passing. He was a gentleman in the truest sense; honorable, hard working & aways modest in the good he did. My thoughts & prayers are with you and your family. He will be missed. Yours in friendship, Florence Jigarjian

Good Morning to Petley Family I had the pleasure of working with Tom in the very beginning next to the Defense Depot in Watertown Tom and I spent many a cold night riding with driver's. Tom and I parted ways moving thru UPS but when our paths did cross it was always just like yesterday. My wife Mary and I express our deepest sympathy and our prayers are with all of you. Dearest Aunt Ellie, I have placed a picture on my laptop of you, Tom and Kim in Tallinn, to remind me of the fun we had together and of his great generosity. Tom was bigger than life, kind, patient, intelligent, hardworking and fun. But most of all, I will remember how he took such good and loving care of you and your children. That is truly a legacy. Keep well, and I hope to see you soon. Love from Barbara

My condolences to the Petley family. I had the honor of working with Tom at UPS in the mid to late 80's. No more dedicated a UPS'er than he. Appreciated his support and loyalty. My family and I pray that his family surround themselves with fond memories in this difficult time.
Peace of mind is a call away. We’re here when you need us most.

Mr. Petley was truly one of a kind, and I admired him greatly. I visited his home often while growing up, and whenever I did, he would always greet me with a warm smile and a handshake. He would always take time to have a conversation with me, and would have me laughing in no time. He had a terrific sense of humor, and a great outlook on life. Regardless of the particular challenge, Mr. P always seemed to handle adversity with a smile. He may have just gotten out of the O.R., but you’d never be able to tell. He didn’t want to burden anyone with his troubles. I also admired his dedication to his family. To me, he became the definition of what a family man should be, and I’ve always aspired to follow his example. I respected his integrity, intelligence, and determination. He worked very hard to achieve his success, while always remaining humble. He was kind, generous, courageous, and a class act…a rare treasure that will truly be missed. I am richer for having known him. Rest in Peace.

We join with so many others who knew and loved Tom in offering our deepest sympathy on his passing. Although it is little consolation at this sad time, it should be of some satisfaction to know that in his passing you can celebrate the joy he brought to all our lives. The measure of a life well-lived is through the lives he touched and the sorrow he leaves behind. If the outpouring of sympathy on his loss is any indication, and it most certainly is, you can proudly and confidently say that his indeed was a life well-lived. May you find peace and comfort in knowing that his loss is felt by all who knew and loved him and that he and Dad are together again in God’s arms. In Sympathy, Brian & Suzanne
