Thomas “Tom” Rustici, a devoted husband, loving father, cherished family member, and friend, passed away surrounded by the love and memories of those who knew him.
Born and raised in Elmhurst, Queens, Tom was a graduate of St. Francis College and went on to work on Wall Street, where he dedicated many years of his professional life.
Tom was an incredible warrior throughout his battle with cancer. He faced each challenge with courage, determination, and unwavering strength. Much of that strength came from the love and support of his family, who stood beside him every step of the way.
A lifelong fan of the New York Yankees and Boston Celtics, Tom enjoyed cheering on his favorite teams. He also spent much of his life on the golf course, where his love for the game reflected his appreciation for the outdoors, friendly competition, and the many friendships he made along the way.
Tom is survived by his devoted wife, Carol; his son, Thomas; his brother Herman “Rusty” Rustici and sister-in-law Linda; his mother-in-law, Nora Naughton; sister-in-law Nora Paul and her husband Larry; and sister-in-law Eileen Gavin and her husband Jim. He also leaves behind his faithful four-legged companion, Bella, who brought him constant love, comfort, and companionship.
Tom will be lovingly remembered by his nieces and nephews: Danielle, Michael, Dan, Tom and his wife Kristin, Jim and his wife Annalyce, and Laura Paul. He is also survived by his grandniece Eleanor and grandnephew Benjamin.
He was predeceased by his parents, Annabelle and Herman Rustici; his father-in-law, Thomas Naughton; and his grandniece, Hallie Grace.
Tom leaves behind a legacy of courage, adventure, kindness, humor, and love. His strength, passion for life, and devotion to his family will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing him.
The family finds comfort in knowing that Tom will be reunited with his dad, hopefully enjoying a long-awaited game of golf together in heaven.
Visitation Tuesday, June 23, 2026, 2:00 pm until the time of the service at 5:30 pm at the Holmdel Funeral Home, 26 South Holmdel Road, Holmdel.
