Tony Paparella, 90, of Holmdel, passed away peacefully on January 7, 2025 with his dedicated wife Eileen at his side.
He was born September 9, 1934 in Manhattan to the late Leonarda and Cataldo Paparella. Tony was raised in Manhattan, graduating from Lasalle Academy and Manhattan College. Shortly after college, Tony served his country honorably in the US Army Audit Agency, stationed in Munich, Germany. After his military service, he worked as a CPA for Main Hurdman, then as a partner at KPMG, and finally, P&G Associates. He moved to Holmdel in 1980 and resided there since. He was a devout catholic and parishioner of St. Benedict RC Church, serving as a trustee for some time.
Tony enjoyed watching sports, and was an avid Yankees and Jets fan. He also enjoyed working on crossword puzzles, cooking and grilling for his family, and traveling. Most of all, he loved spending time with his wife and family.
He is predeceased by his parents and brother, Dominick Paparella, and his first wife Diana Paparella.
Surviving is his wife Eileen Paparella, his children Donna Paparella of Brooklyn Heights, Anthony Paparella of Tinton Falls, and Linda Paparella and her wife Phoebe Hanshew of Manhattan, six grandchildren Sam, Annalisa, Michaelina, Antonia, Sula, and Bo, his step-children Gregory and Jackie Valesi, Susan and David Janazzo, and Peter and Cindy Valesi, and many step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Friday, January 10 from 8am – 9am at Holmdel Funeral Home, 26 S. Holmdel Road, Holmdel. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered 10am at St. Benedict’s Roman Catholic Church, 165 Bethany Road, Holmdel. Entombment will follow at Holmdel Cemetery & Mausoleum, Holmdel.
