I met Vickie in the Fall of '84 and found her to be an engaging conversationalist, having been educated in her formative years in convent schools throughout Europe. She was afforded an extremely upscale education, and deservedly so, as her father (Orazio Carlucci) was the Director of the Army's Criminal Investigation Division, stationed in Berlin after the war. A man of abundance renown he was one of the few civilians ever to be awarded the French Legion of Merit.
Interestingly, I did not learn that from Vickie or Ralph. I read that in his obituary.
But that was Vickie and Ralph reserved and humble to a fault, as Ralph too had an extraordinary career in law enforcement...but leaves others to talk about it.
Many women grow up wanting to marry a man like their father Vickie did when she married my best, Ralph, who is closer than a brother.
Rest easy Vickie...you trained him well.
