Vito “Vic” Angelo Lunanuova, 90, of Middletown, passed away peacefully, Monday, December 27 at home.

Vic was born in Hoboken and graduated from Demarest High School, Hoboken. Vic served his country honorably in the US Army during the Korean War.

Vic enjoyed spending time with his lifelong friends from Hoboken.  He loved New York sports and especially Joe DiMaggio, his family’s football pool as well as Notre Dame and St. Joseph University games.

Most of all, Vic was a family man and was a big part of his children’s lives, always there to celebrate their accomplishments. He and Ann took four trips to Italy, each having their favorite spot.  Vic worked with his father-in-law at a deli in Jersey City and then relocated to Lincroft where he ran a diner with his brother-in-law Louis Houmis, in Middletown. He then went on to open a luncheonette in the Lincroft Pharmacy.  Vic enjoyed driving so much he became a chauffeur with Airport Wheels. He loved investing and passed on the importance of it to his sons. In his retirement, he loved watching his grandchildren.

Surviving is his wife of 66 years, Ann; his children Dominic & Louise of Rumson, Joseph & Anne of Springfield, PA and Stephen & Kristin of Middletown and his five grandchildren Allyson, Constance & her husband Parker, Michael, Sabrina and Audrina.

Visitation Thursday, December 30, 5-7 pm at the Holmdel Funeral Home, 26 South Holmdel Road, Holmdel.  Mass of Christian burial Friday, December 31, 10:15 am at St. Leo the Great RC Church, 50 Hurleys Lane, Lincroft.  Entombment to follow at St. Gabriel’s Mausoleum, Marlboro.  In lieu of customary remembrances, donations may be made in Vic’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, www.stjude.org.
