Dear Cathy and Joe, I was so sad to hear the news about Vivian from Mom and Dad. Please accept my sincere condolences for your loss. Your mom was such a great lady. Her warmth, beauty, empathy, openness to others, and wit made her a joy to be around. She and Bob were quite a couple. So it was always a pleasure when our family would make the trek through the farm fields of northern Monmouth County and come to your house in Matawan. Those were very special days. I know how much Art and Ginny treasured Bob and Vivian’s friendship. It’s wonderful that their friendship lasted so many years and created such great memories. With love to both of you, Blair Kamin
Vivian was an inspiration and dear friend to all of us in Rotary for over 10 years. Her calm cool insights into human behavior were invaluable. Her warm smile and eternal optimism will be sorely missed.
To the family of Mary Vivian Fu Wells, We extend our deepest sympathies to you on the death of Vivian, our friend and colleague. Vivian was an inspiration to other mediators with her kind, calm demeanor and her lack of ego. She was a pioneer in the field of mediation, and will be missed by all of us.
My dear Vivian: Friends since grade school, like sisters in the end, you are one of life's lessons I will never forget. You taught me to be a stronger woman in family, profession and prayer. I cried when you left the first time in Shanghai when life was simple and it was child's play. You were the first to greet me with open arms in 1950 at Union Station, in Washington DC when I went to Catholic University for my post graduate studies. You took care of me like family and navigated my way to living my best life. You were my best friend - 60 years strong. I cried when you left the first time. I cry now, comforted only by the fact that your legacy remains, your inspiration like a whisper in the wind, and you are now in a better place, without pain or worry. Until we meet again dear friend. Greet me with open arms. I will be runnng to feel the embrace. Miss you. With prayers always,
My prayers and sympathy to the family. She was a dear colleague and friend. I will miss her.
We were fortunate to be able to see Vivian the few times over these last several years, whether in the East coast, or here in San Francisco. She has been an inspiration, and she has always been wonderful to be with. We will miss her dearly. Our love and support will always be here for you, Cathy, Joe and your families.
I am so saddened by Vivian's passing. I only saw her from time to time but she always had a kind word. She was a true model of a family mediator. She has taught and mentored scores of students in this important field and helped countless families. She will be misssd.
Joe, I'm sorry to learn of the passing of your mother. You and your family are in our thoughts and prayers. Adrian
I am saddened to learn of Vivian's passing. She was a lovely woman and was truly dedicated to her profession. She will be missed, but remembered.
Vivian was my teacher, my mentor and my friend. Her kind words, quiet determination, sunny disposition and unwaivering respect and concern for others shall continue to be an inspiration to me.
Vivian was a very special person, and I will always remember our visits with her and my cousin, Robert. Rest in peace, Vivian. Blessings to Joe and Cathy and their families.
Remember, Vivian, we were supposed to meet a month ago at Maria Yu's, their new residence and you had to call off for family reason. I always treasure our friendship in Shanghai and your beautiful smiles and gentle words linger all the time on my mind. I am going to miss you a lot and will keep you in my prayers. Rest heavenly. George Chang
