Wesley “Wes” Mak, 39, of Morganville, passed away on Thursday, September 19.
Wes was born in Bloomfield and grew up in Warren. He graduated from Watchung Hills Regional High School, where he played football and excelled academically. He went on to study at Rutgers University and after graduating, launched a successful tech sales career, where his natural curiosity, optimism, and knack for understanding people brought him to the top of his field. Wes was a devoted family man, a dedicated professional, a food enthusiast, an avid traveler, a genuinely kind person, and a friend to everyone he encountered. Wes had a gift for connecting with people, those friendships have endured a lifetime. To know him was to love him; he brought depth and excitement to everyone’s life. He cherished family above all else and upheld his Chinese heritage and traditions. Conversations with Wes felt unique and personal; he truly listened and cared deeply about everyone he encountered.
Wes is survived by his wife, Shannon Mak, and their two children, Amelia and George. He is also mourned by his parents, Mona and Kevin Mak; his brother Ashley and his wife Kaitie; his brother Kelley and his wife Margaret; his brother-in-law Doug Brewster and his wife Nicole; and his cherished nieces and nephews, Paige and Reese Brewster, and Juniper and Paris Mak.
