William Epp, 91, passed away Sunday, May 1st at his home in Phoenix, AZ. Mr. Epp was born and raised in Noblesville, IN, he moved to Long Branch in 1964 and later settled in Phoenix, in 1994. For many years Mr. Epp was the owner and operator of Long Branch Roofing & Siding. He served his country honorably during World Wall II in the Merchant Marines. His family and gardening were his hobbies. Mr. Epp was a family man and loved spending time with his children and their friends, his grandchildren and his nieces and nephews who always referred to him as the “favorite uncle.†His door was always open and there was always room for another person at his table. Mr. Epp’s garden was started from seeds in his basement. His beautiful flowers and vegetables were shared with his family and friends, who often would come by the house and pick their own. He grafted his own apple tree to produce four different types of apples. Mr. Epp was predeceased by his first wife and mother of his children, Vera, his son Preston, his brothers Robert and James Epp and his sister Frances King. Surviving are his 2nd wife, Rosie; his daughter Karen Perry Hoy and her husband Kevin, Long Branch; his son Bill Epp and Joanne Crader, Wall; his brothers Donald and Jack Epp, Noblesville, IN, and his grandchildren Vincent Berardi, Travis Hoy, Ryan Epp, Christina Epp and Sydney Epp, as well as his step children and grandchildren in Arizona. Memorial gathering will be Tuesday May 17th , 6:00 pm until the time of the service at 8:00 pm at the Woolley-Boglioli Funeral Home, 10 Morrell Street, Long Branch.
